This competition was held at Bembridge bowls club on Tuesday 16th July, any unbadged county players can take part. We had 4 ladies from Sandown take part Mary Smith, Gwen Hayden, Katie Tillett and Jeanette Powell. On arrival you choose your rink from a draw and met your team on the mat. To play with players from other clubs was great fun, friendly and plenty of laughter was had on all rinks. 3 rounds of 6 ends with the winning team moving up a rink was the format with of course a break for tea and cake.

The winning team included our very own Gwen Hayden, Congratultions to you and your team.

 Congratulations to the 5 ladies who represented Sandown that played in the ladies County Jubilee Shield at ryde. Out of 14 teams Irene Bridgewater, Gwen Hayden, Katie Tillett, Jane Green & Jane Giden came 4th. Well done ladies!!!

Remember to look out for these competitions next year, we can always send more than one team!

On Sunday 23rd of June the annual Sandown cup was held at Ryde Marina bowling club. 4 teams from Sandown entered, with 2 of those teams coming 1st and 2nd.

The day was 5 games of 9 ends, rink changes along with different team for each game.

 Bacon rolls on arrival (If ordered) a break for lunch Plouhmans (If Ordered) and tea and cake late afternoon.

The weather was perfect along with the fun and friendliness of all teams. Why not get a team together for next years event!!
